SABMILLER ANNOUNCES PUBLICATION OF PROSPECTUS

On 28 January 2009 SABMiller plc submitted to the Financial Services Authority a base prospectus relating to the establishment by SABMiller plc and its wholly-owned subsidiary Racetrack Perú S.A. of a Guaranteed Medium Term Note Programme (the 'Programme'). The maximum aggregate principal amount of notes that may be outstanding at any time under the Programme is PEN (Peruvian Nuevos Soles) 1,500,000,000 (approximately US$ 500,000,000).
SABMiller expects that any notes issued in the future under the Programme will be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admitted to trading on the Professional Securities Market of the London Stock Exchange plc. No notes are being issued under the Programme at this time.
